Meet team tops
Dr. Mark Sanchez is the founder, CEO and chief developer of tops Software, and a practicing orthodontist. He’s the only programmer of orthodontic practice management software who actually uses such a product on a daily basis. Mark developed his programming skills while pursuing a doctorate in physics at Georgia Tech. His dental degree and certificate in orthodontics are from Emory University.
Kalin Ambrose joined team tops in 2017 as our hardware specialist after spending six years with Apple as a specialist and business expert. His background also includes work as a production assistant in the film & television industry. Kalin has a bachelor’s degree in science, technology, and culture from Georgia Tech, and moonlights as a graphic designer. Have you ever seen the pineapple kitty cycling kit? Yep, he came up with that!!
Terry Bailey has been working in the orthodontic profession since 1997, so it’s only natural that she would be our training manager! Prior to joining tops in 2011, she worked as the executive manager and treatment coordinator for a busy, multi-location practice that used topsOrtho. In addition to her orthodontic skills, Terry is also a certified chiropractic assistant and massage therapist, which is perfect because we need her and she kneads us!
Michelle Bourgeois-Hager is our sales executive for Australia, New Zealand and the central United States. She joined tops in 2012, after various sales roles in orthodontics and dentistry. Michelle even worked as an office manager in an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice. Michelle has a bachelor’s degree in communications and marketing from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, and enjoys scuba diving and hiking.
Danyelle Cassady has been rockin’ with team tops since 2002 as a trainer, customer support, and is now on our transition team! She began her career working as a pediatric dental assistant, and quickly moved into orthodontics. In 2000, she singlehandedly transitioned that practice from paper records to a paperless topsOrtho office. In her free time, Danyelle enjoys tending to her chickens and rehabbing trash pandas (a.k.a. raccoons!) in her urban Chicago backyard!
Jayce Deain joined our training team in 2017 after working in the dental and orthodontic profession since 2004. She spent over six years at a topsOrtho practice, so she’s a keyboard shortcut guru! Jayce has a bachelors degree in healthcare management from Northwest Florida State College. When she’s not working, she’s boating and soaking up the sun along the beautiful Emerald Coast while chasing around her two spoiled dachshunds (who she says flunked out of obedience school…. ohhhh, that’s ruff!)
Kelly DelaEspriella worked in the orthodontic profession for over sixteen years as a chairside assistant and clinical coordinator prior to joining our training team. When she’s not out on the road, she enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering at her local hospice for children – she was their 2014 Volunteer of the Year! In addition to a big heart, she also has an amazing eye for landscape and portrait photography – smile and say cheeeeese!
Ariann Fahey began working in an orthodontic office while she was in high school, and her experience ranges from working in the lab to managing a large multiple location practice in Houston, Texas. She joined tops in 1999 as an instructor and now serves as the support team manager. Ariann enjoys family time with her husband and two boys, rescuing boxers, and rumor has it she answers support questions while floating in her pool.
Alicia Gimmie is our sales executive for the western United States and western Canada. In addition to her background in orthodontic sales, Alicia once sold Band-Aids and first-aid kits to manufacturing firms. Alicia has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Arizona State University and used to dream of being a lawyer, before she fell in love with sales. When she’s not working, Alicia loves horseback riding. Fun fact: Alicia has a photographic memory for numbers.
Alex Goryuk is a developer (aka maker of cool things). Before coming to tops, Alex worked as a software developer for Rosetta Stone, which offers interactive language-learning tools for people around the world. Prior to that, he worked for a printing company as a desktop publisher. He earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from James Madison University in Virginia. In his free time, Alex likes to try new foods. He also likes to travel—mainly to try new foods.
Sarah Hafner is on our customer support team. Before joining tops in 2016, Sarah used topsOrtho while working as a treatment coordinator, financial coordinator, and office manager for a multi-doctor, multi-state practice. She holds a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology from Tennessee Tech and enjoys yard sales, traveling, and boat restoration projects with her hubby… when she’s not busy contemplating the unified field theory.
Gretchen Hale works closely with the sales team as the sales coordinator. She has a strong background in orthodontics, including working as a treatment coordinator in a practice as well as handling marketing, implementation and training for a practice consultant. Gretchen has a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Go Blazers! In her spare time, she enjoys Zumba classes and is a devoted coupon clipper.
Colleen Hall has been with tops since 2005, first as a certified tops instructor, then customer support and special projects, and now as our software release manager. She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Georgia State University, is a certified legal assistant, and has more than 10 years of experience in accounting and financial legal matters. She also performs all of her own stunts.
Kelly Hutto joined our reception team in 2016, so there’s a pretty good chance you’ll chat with her when you call tops! She’s been in the hospitality industry for the last 10 years, doing everything from slinging craft cocktails to managing multimillion-dollar restaurants. She has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of West Georgia, and in her free time she likes to work on special FX makeup and binge watch horror movies. BOO!
Michael Ledford received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Georgia. Afterward, he joined a small Internet start-up company, where he designed a content management system that brought the company to profitability. During that time, he contributed to several open-source projects. Michael is the technical lead for tops web services and manages our programming team.
Toni Magni handles customer support and process engineering for tops’ European customers from his base in Italy. He has a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Brasilia (Brazil) and a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Case Western Reserve University. Toni represents tops on the American Dental Association Standards Committee on Dental Informatics (ADA SCDI), which develops standards for technology use in the dental/orthodontic profession.
Rhiannon Menze began working with team tops in 2015 on our customer support team and is totally devoted to the happiness and satisfaction of our friends in Australia & New Zealand! She has over 10 years of orthodontic office experience, and fell in love with topsOrtho while working for a busy Melbourne-area practice. When she’s not chasing her two kids all over Victoria, she enjoys photography and is an amazing cake decorator.
Ann Miller travels the globe as a member of our training team. Prior to joining tops in 2010, Ann held roles as a training & development specialist and a webmaster & learning systems coordinator. She graduated summa cum laude from Franklin University in Ohio with a bachelor’s degree in digital communications and marketing. When she’s not in far-flung locales such as Ireland or Australia, you might find Ann two-stepping with her friends in Dallas, Texas.
Kelly Ondovic is on our customer support team. Before joining tops in 2018, she spent over thirteen years working as an orthodontic assistant, treatment coordinator, financial coordinator, and practice manager (that’s a lot of experience!). Kelly has an associate’s degree in culinary arts from McIntosh College in Dover, New Hampshire. When she’s not in the kitchen, you’ll find her at a Phish show-she’s seen them play in 15 U.S. States and in Mexico! Set the gearshift to the high gear of your soul…
Stacey Peaden spent three years on our customer support team before becoming a transition specialist and now our transition team manager. Prior to joining tops in 2007, Stacey served in the U.S. Marine Corps and then worked as a certified dental assistant, orthodontic assistant, financial coordinator, treatment coordinator, and public relations manager (whew!). She enjoys spending time with her family, lounging at the river, and marathon training. Oorah!!
Christin Pears joined team tops in 2015 as a member of our customer support team. She earned a bachelor’s degree as a double major in biobehavioral health and communications from The Pennsylvania State University, and is a die-hard Pittsburgh fan-Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins, oh my! When she’s not providing software support, you can bet she’s either spending time with her husband and kids or dreaming of the ocean.
Marcy Przelomiec is our sales executive for the northeastern United States and eastern Canada. She has been in sales since 2005. Before coming to tops, she held a sales position with another company in the field of orthodontics. Marcy graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in sociology and freely admits that she’s obsessed with celebrity gossip.
Meri Sampson is a customer support representative. Before joining tops in 2011, she used topsOrtho as clinical supervisor for a busy Texas orthodontic practice. Meri was among the first 100 people in the U.S. to earn the title of Specialized Orthodontic Assistant. She has a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Georgia, and enjoys coaching competitive cheerleading and tumbling.
Mary Schuldt joined tops in 2011 as a customer support rep. She was previously the office manager for a busy orthodontic practice in Eugene, Ore., where she was responsible for personnel, construction, patient, financial and technical matters. Mary has a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Oregon, and once took a grad level class on statistical regression, just for fun.
Linda Short is a member of our training team, where she teaches new and established customers all about tops products. Her background includes time spent as a television news editor, a trainer for pharmaceutical, clinical trials, and video editing software, as well as teaching adult education computer classes. Linda has a bachelor’s degree in communications from John Carroll University in Ohio, and is known for rocking fierce footwear!
Mary Smilie is a member of our customer support team. Before joining tops, she worked as a treatment coordinator and office manager for two busy orthodontic practices. Mary has a bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University in fashion merchandising and psychology, and admits that although she loves wearing activewear, she does not enjoy actually working out!
Sara Walker, our office and accounting manager, worked her way up the ladder at Arvest Bank for nearly 15 years before joining tops in 2010. The Arkansas native toiled in the bank’s credit file room before working her way up to loan officer and eventually a VP mortgage loan officer. Sara absolutely loves music and can turn any conversation into a song.
Maleka Watson spent four years in the hospitality industry before joining our meetings team in 2017. All of that fancy-schmancy hotel experience comes in handy for getting us where we need to be, when we need to be there! Born and raised in Maui, Hawaii, she confesses to being a serious bookworm, and is a huge sports fan. Go Falcons! RISE UP!
RD Willhoite is a developer for tops. His experience includes work on Xcode, Core Data and Maps teams at Apple. He also led a serious games organization developing fully interactive 3D training simulations. RD has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. While he currently roasts his own coffee using a creatively modified thrift store popcorn popper, his long term plans are to someday build his own roaster.
